Yeti (Naver Search Crawler)
The official web crawler used by Naver Search. Allowing Yeti in robots.txt is required to be stably indexed and considered for AI Briefing and AI Tab answers
What is Yeti?
Yeti is the name of the official web crawler operated by Naver Search. It is referenced as the standard user agent in the robots.txt examples in Naver Search Advisor's official guides. If a site blocks Yeti, Naver indexing becomes incomplete, which increases the risk of being excluded from candidates for Korean AI search answers such as AI Briefing and AI Tab.
How do you check it?
In robots.txt, verify the following:
- That the
User-agent: Yetiblock does not contain an unintendedDisallow - That blocking rules are not overly broad at the directory level
- That the policy is consistent with GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and PerplexityBot and other AI crawlers
Content perspective
Following English-first GEO playbooks alone, it is easy to allow GPTBot and ClaudeBot while overlooking Yeti. Allowing Yeti is the starting line for Korean-market visibility. RanketAI's Site Diagnostic includes Yeti among its 14 AI bots, helping to cover items that English-first playbooks miss.
