What is Naver AI Tab?
Naver AI Tab is a new conversational AI search mode that sits next to existing tabs such as Web, Image, and VIEW in Naver search. It was beta-launched on April 28, 2026 for Naver Plus Membership users and is built on Naver's hyperscale AI model HyperCLOVA X.
How does it work?
When a user enters a query, AI Tab visibly walks through plan → search → generate → organize on screen. Response time is observed to range from a few seconds to about ten seconds depending on the query. It does not stop at an answer — it connects the next actions (shopping, places, booking) on the same screen.
How is it different from AI Briefing, Google AI Overview, and AI Mode?
- Compared with the same company's Naver AI Briefing, which is a summary card at the top of the search results, AI Tab is a "separate conversational mode."
- While Google AI Overview focuses on the summary above search results, AI Tab — like Google AI Mode — pursues conversational discovery and integrated tools and services.
Content perspective
To be exposed in AI Tab, content must be caught during the search step and clear enough to be adopted during the generate step. It works best with question-style headings, direct-answer paragraphs, FAQ/HowTo structured data, and open access for AI crawlers including Yeti.
