Korean B2B SaaS AI Visibility Benchmark: ChatGPT Mentions 33% vs 83% Elsewhere
We measured 12 Korean B2B SaaS domains in real ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity answers for the July 2026 benchmark: a median visibility score of 51/100, a 2.5x platform gap in brand mention rates (33% vs 83%), and citations dominated by third-party sources.

Key takeaways: We measured 12 Korean B2B SaaS domains in real ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity answers. The median score is 51/100, with grades splitting into A (5), B (5), and D — never mentioned — (2). The biggest finding is the platform gap: the same sample gets mentioned in 83% of cases on Perplexity and Gemini but only 33% on ChatGPT. And the sources cite most are not brands' own sites but video, blog platforms, wikis, and IT media. Full numbers are published as anonymized aggregates in the July 2026 benchmark report.
What we measured, and how
We sampled 12 Korean B2B SaaS domains from the public web across 8 sub-verticals (customer support, collaboration, HR, e-signature, marketing, website builders, documents, monitoring) and measured them on July 23, 2026 under identical conditions. We used diverse purchase, comparison, and discovery question combinations to check brand mentions and citations. Details are in the measurement methodology.
Results are fully anonymized: we publish category distributions and rates only, never individual brands, domains, or rankings. Since individual scores moved within roughly ±10 points in same-day repeat runs (with 1 of 12 domains changing grade), distributions are the safer way to read this data.
Distribution — median 51, two domains never mentioned
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Median (p50) | 51 |
| Top 25% (p75) | 59 |
| Top 10% (p90) | 67 |
| Grades | A 5 · B 5 · C 0 · D 2 |
The two D-grade domains were not measurement artifacts — they were genuinely absent. Across all 6 runs (2 runs × 3 platforms), answers were generated in full richness, yet these brands never appeared. AI answers for category questions already exist; the competition is over who gets into them.
The platform gap — ChatGPT 33% vs Perplexity and Gemini 83%
| Platform | Brand mention rate | Own-domain citation rate |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | 33% | 8% |
| Perplexity | 83% | 42% |
| Gemini | 83% | 83% |
The same set of brands showed a 2.5x difference in mention rates depending on the platform. ChatGPT had the lowest rate of the three — suggesting that brands lacking third-party documents that surface in search (comparisons, reviews, wiki-style pages) tend not to get mentioned at all. Gemini, by contrast, cited brands' own domains in 83% of the sample. Platforms consult different sources and cite differently, so judging overall AI visibility from a single platform distorts the picture.
Who AI answers actually cite — third-party sources lead
Excluding the sample's own domains, the top cited sources were video platforms (YouTube), blog platforms (Naver Blog, Tistory), wiki-style documents (Namuwiki), and IT media (ET News, ZDNet Korea, Hankyung). The full top-10 host frequencies are published in the report's citation source patterns table.
This pattern lines up with what we found in our AI bot log measurement: most AI bot traffic is live citation fetching at answer time. Your content needs to be in the document pool AI reads at the moment an answer is generated — and the top of that pool is third-party surfaces, not your own site.
Practical takeaways — optimizing your own site is not enough
The priorities observed in this data, offered as an inspection order rather than a guaranteed causal prescription:
- Check what gets cited for your category questions — the source types already cited in your vertical's AI answers (comparison and review content, wiki-style documents, industry media) are your entry map.
- Verify your brand exists on those surfaces — top-tier brands tended to be mentioned evenly across all three platforms while also being cited on third-party surfaces.
- Strengthen evidence assets on your own site — the GEO study presented at KDD 2024 reports that adding sources, quotations, and statistics improved generative engine visibility by up to 40% on average. Publishing citable documents with explicit sources and numbers is the foundation.
To find where you stand, AI visibility diagnostics such as RanketAI can run a brand visibility measurement under the same conditions and show where your grade (A-D) sits in the category distribution.
FAQ
Can I find out whether my company was in the sample, or where it ranked?▾
No. This benchmark is a fully anonymized aggregate and does not disclose individual brands, domains, or rankings. We recommend running your own measurement instead.
Is it normal that my brand is missing only on ChatGPT?▾
It was a common pattern in this sample — ChatGPT's mention rate (33%) was far below the other two platforms (83%). Individual causes vary by domain, though, so measuring per platform to locate the gap is the right first step.
How stable are these numbers?▾
In same-day repeat runs, individual scores moved within roughly ±10 points and one domain changed grade. AI answers vary by model, timing, and question — read distributions and repeated-measurement trends rather than single results.
Full numbers, sample criteria, and limitations are in the July 2026 benchmark report, with raw aggregates downloadable as data.json and data.md.

Data Basis
- First-party research measurement: 12 Korean B2B SaaS domains sampled from the public web, measured on 2026-07-23 under identical conditions, 2 runs each with the latest valid run per domain entering the distribution. Results are fully anonymized — individual brands and domains are not disclosed.
- Variance check: in same-day repeat runs, individual scores moved within roughly ±10 points and 1 of 12 domains changed grade. We report distributions and rates rather than individual values.
- Sample limits: an initial 12-domain public-web sample, not a representative sample of the whole industry. Inclusion and exclusion criteria are disclosed in the report.
